The Launch

Worthington Together is a process for everyone who cares about our community to share ideas and shape an action plan to guide where and how our city grows for years to come. It will build upon Vision Worthington to address important topics such as neighborhoods and housing, commercial areas, parks, facilities, quality of life, transportation, sustainability, and related topics.

The Launch is the first of three rounds of community input. If you missed the in-person event on June 11 or attended but have more to share, please complete the activities below.

Part 1. Treasures

Launch Treasure

What do you treasure about Worthington today?

Part 2. Mapping Opportunities

For this activity, let’s assume that most of Worthington will not significantly change in the future, but there are some locations that could be improved. Think about locations in Worthington where there are opportunities for change and improvement in the future. Review the four types of opportunities below. Then mark places on the interactive map and describe the place and the opportunity(s). Repeat for as many places as you would like to mark.

Opportunity Types

1. Housing

Where are locations with opportunities to increase the range of housing options in the community? What housing types, price points, or other attributes are needed?

2. Transportation

Where are locations to improve connectivity and how people move around the community? What facilities or characteristics are important?

3. Commercial Corridors and Centers

Where are locations to improve the character and function of commercial places in the community? What attributes of future places are important?

4. Placemaking and Quality of Life*

Where are locations to strengthen the community’s environmental stewardship, quality of place, and amenities?

* For the purposes of this activity, quality of life refers to parks, natural resources, amenities, and sustainability.
