Hi Team – I wasn’t having much luck with using the map, so using this survey submission/block to provide thoughts related to “Part 2: Mapping Opportunities”:
1) Former Anthem building – assume property is held for eventual office tenant. That would be the ideal usage, but would be space for mixed housing/park land if office tenants never materialize.
2) High Street Transportation – not sure if it would be a regular basis thing, weekends only, special events, but any transportation ideas to connect Wilson Bridge area to downtown Worthington/pool
3) East Wilson Bridge project – know part is still intended to be office, but again more oppty for housing/parks if doesn’t happen.
4) East Wilson Bridge project – ideally any apartment development would be in the low/med density and not anywhere close to high density
5) East Wilson Bridge across from McDonald’s – not sure if this is a business opportunity or not. I see cars in parking lots, but buildings seems old/not inviting to new tennants
6) Linworth Park area – any improvements available here?
7) East Wilson Bridge/Huntley intersection – think a consultant is already providing guidance to the city, but this is an intersection/area that could be used better
8) Worthingon Galena Road (behind police/fire stations) – think a property owner may be a roadblock, but seem like an area suited well for office/medical building use
9) Worthigton Mall Site – not sure if that’s all geared to commericial use or not, but is an area that could allow for some new housing

I treasure our bustling community centered around radical acceptance and love for our neighbors. Worthington is a great community to grow up in because of how safe and welcoming it is, to people of all creeds, colors, and experiences.

The public spaces and shops we can walk to from home. We would really love a more robust park we can walk to from old Worthington. We love the farmers market and supporting businesses in old Worthington but would be able to spend more time up there if there was a splashpad or playground incorporated in the DORA space. We moved here for the walkability to public spaces and businesses

The small-town feel; the community cohesiveness; the downtown; friendly neighbors; the great schools; the walkability of the city; and the proximity to freeways, downtown Columbus, and The Ohio State University.

*Low traffic for the most part

* The “sense of place” … that Worthington is a distinctive area with a sense of community and local identity and character that instill pride in the residents and have a positive reputation in the city and region.
* This historical nature of the area, centering on Old Worthington, with signs, building styles, and names of places, institutions, and businesses that draw attention to the historical roots of Worthington, which in turn lends a quality of dignity and proclaims the value placed on tradition and heritage that are integral to the identity and character of Worthington.
* The overall high quality of life, including the following communal resources:
* The vibrant cultural and artistic life, including community centers, performances, exhibitions, a broad array of classes, and themed festivals and outdoor markets.
* The distribution, high quality, and rapid availability of EMT, fire, and police services.
* The easy proximity throughout the community of a broad spectrum of resources and services (e.g., medical, wellness, educational, financial, religious) and of shopping opportunities spanning necessities, luxuries (I include chocolate in this category), and boutique specialties.
* We have many family-owned businesses, which contributes to the sense of place.
* The shopping areas, especially in Old Worthington, but including the Wilson Road corridor, have a consistent and appealing aesthetic rather than being broken up by modern eyesores.
* The focus on environmental sustainability, including a robust recycling and composting program, free-cycle days, special recycling events (e.g., for medications, Styrofoam, shredding, small electronics), educational outreach, and ample donation destinations and opportunities.
* The high quality of the schools.
* All of these features draw investment and keep property values high, which feed into the tax base.
