The farmers market, Sunday fundays, and really anything downtown |

Being in a big city that doesn’t feel like a big city. Except for the homeless/junkies that hang out at the square and beg… That feels a lot like a big city. Strong sense of community. Parts are walkable, which is nice. |

Ready, accessible resources and services in a reasonably well maintained livable, safe environment. Good government and related services. Natural areas. |

I treasure its small-town look and feel while yet close to the advantages of a larger Metro area (Columbus). I believe that feel is due in large part to its lack of full-on congestion. That is not to say that Worthington is easy to get around in on rush hour or Saturday mornings, but it is manageable. As a general concept, I think the City needs to avoid the temptation to overdevelop when looking at the current road situation. I also appreciate walkability. As one who grew up here, walking to the schools, pool, shops, church, and library, I treasure that experience and feel. It is something to preserve for future generations as other suburbs around us overdevelop. |

* I value the rich historic background of Worthington including historically significant buildings, even several on the Underground Railroad! Paired with walkability to restaurants, library, schools, pool, churches, bike path, Griswold/Community Center, Worthington is a treasure! |

I treasure our unique community which has NOT (yet) SOLD OUT to urban developers who want to destroy what we have by putting large multi-story tracts of gen-z crates in our city. If you’re not familiar with these, I suggest a drive through any of the other towns (UA, Powell, Lewis Center, Columbus, Hilliard, Grandview, etc) with these ugly monstrosities, particularly on a Friday or Saturday evening where scores of muffler-less Honda Civics and their ilk are blaring & tearing all over the place. |

I treasure the festivals and activities in Old Worthington and at the green. I love how responsive city services are–our street sign was missing and they replaced it hours after we submitted a request. I really love our schools and the sense of community pride. |

Please excuse the long response. Much of what I personally appreciate about Worthington is its location in relation to the region. Trail accessibility, highway accessibility, historic High Street, mature tree canopy, top notch public services. Plenty of things to brag about as a Worthington resident. However, we need to have serious conversations and THOROUGH public education about emerging topics (i.e. density, mixed-use development, the importance of attracting a strong employment base for income tax generation in the midst of a shifting office market, etc.) I often feel embarrassed when thinking about how the city has handled mixed use development and higher density residential development. We need to shift the narrative and show residents how these land uses contribute to a strong retail environment (additive benefits for high street small businesses). Also, please show examples of mixed use destinations across central Ohio to highlight how the modern real estate market – especially office – benefits from walkable, vibrant, multi-functional neighborhoods. This is about keeping up with communities that surround us. We’ll be left in the dust if we remain closet-NIMBY progressives who only care about important issues when it’s not applicable to our own community. |

The historic downtown and community! I love being able to walk downtown and grab a bite to eat and explore the farmers market. I do wish some of the businesses (insurance, banks, etc) were replaced with more restaurants and local shops. |

Proximity to so much of what the metropolitan area has to offer. The bike path and olentangy parklands. Pickle ball courts. EXCELLENT library. Handful of decent restaurants. Farmers market |

I love the sense of community. I love the walkability. I love the historic landmarks. I love the newer businesses and restaurants who have moved in. I love all of the “events”, for example, Market Day, Art Fest, Third Thursdays, Farmer’s Market, etc. |

My favorite thing is the Worthington Community Center. I have been working out and taking classes there for over 30 years. It’s great for both physical health and socialization. I appreciate the green spaces, parks, and bike trail and path along the river. We love being able to walk to downtown restaurants. |

Trees, green space, walkability, historic character, services and manageable traffic. These traits create neighborhoods that contribute to a high quality of life. |

It is a well-maintained, nice community that is walkable and many small businesses. Within the 270 beltway with quick access to multiple highways. Close to Olentangy trail. It is an older town with character—not a recent cookie cutter development. Despite being affluent, it is still accessible to regular people so it doesn’t feel too out of touch with the real world and isn’t like a gated community. |
