Small town feel. Friendly community and amazing downtown.

The way the city keeps and maintains the Historical parts of the city thru events and holidays.

Walkabilty and access to other areas of the city

August 11, 2025 at 4:34 pm

I like the feel of downtown as it changes with seasons. The festivals, the farmers market and entertainment. I love the environment and walk ability.

I treasure the environment of buildings set back from roads and highways, with grass and even parking in front, thus leaving a lot of open space for viewing and enjoying the environment and all that is around. I treasure the open spaces with lots of green and nature. I treasure the ability to safely walk to and around our downtown area with the closeness of community. I do not like too many buildings crowding spaces and people taking nature away. I value the programs offered to all bringing community together.

The small community feeling

August 11, 2025 at 3:46 pm

Worthington is a very comfortable, safe place to live. It is an energetic, vibrant community. As a veteran of the US Navy with 24 years of active duty service, I appreciate the respect and support that Worthington shows to local veterans and veterans groups.

Walkability. Old Worthington. Access to restaurants and the farmers market. The flora and fauna.

August 11, 2025 at 2:07 pm

The storefronts and restaurants that have been here in downtown for a decade and longer.

The residents that are working toward making our city better by addressing issues such as affordable housing and bringing businesses back to Worthington.

The farmers market!

I like the small town vibes with mainly non pretentious residents. It seems to care about its residents with all the activities and celebrations the town puts on!

I love the pride that the community has for itself; including the physical aspects, the schools, the quality of life, etc. As someone who works in Worthington but lives elsewhere, I am envious of how engaged many of the community members are, and how aware they are of issues facing the community. People exhibit a true desire to learn more, engage in conversation, and advocate for their city. I value the neighborhoods through Worthington, each with its own unique qualities, history and architecture. Worthington itself represents more than just New England town, but the history of development in our region/country with various neighborhoods coming out of different phases of time that each were driven by different values, aesthetics, etc. Compared to when I first began coming to Worthington, 30-40 years ago, the quality of businesses and the look of the downtown has really evolved and been cleaned up for the better, making it a delightful place to work and also to bring visitors to a restaurant or for shopping. The amount of mature trees and green space is also a really enviable aspect of Worthington.

The sense of community

Maintenance of older buildings/charm, walkability in SOME areas, access to the olentangy trail

August 10, 2025 at 10:23 pm

I love the historic feel of old Worthington with the small business establishments. Also the building heights, it doesn’t feel like a major city. In places like Hyde park Cincinnati they had that charm
Until a major apartment complex came in with a sky scraper. I think there should be a building heights ordinance if there isn’t already

Diversity of people

August 10, 2025 at 8:29 pm

I love the way that our community consistently prioritizes education, community events, and seeks feedback. I feel like as a community I see more event planning than other communities.

Worthington feels uniquely aligned in its values of community and togetherness. We see that evidence from the prioritization of regularly scheduled programming year after year, to the positive neighborly interactions across the city, and regular inclusion of community opinions to chart the trajectory of the future of the city. I treasure the ownership and engagement this city maintains to ensure the Worthington of tomorrow is as top of mind as the Worthington of today.

Sense of community and the parks!

August 10, 2025 at 3:39 pm

Small, close-knit community. Lots of trees and parks. Sensible investments. Schools.

August 10, 2025 at 3:00 pm

Small town vibe. Not a lot of people coming and going or trashing things. I used to live in the short north and it became very crazy and unsafe and I like how worthington feels safe and small.

August 10, 2025 at 2:50 pm

The walkability (and the fact that people are always out and about taking advantage of this!), the safety, and the farmer’s market

August 10, 2025 at 12:48 pm

Good schools, friendly people, Old Worthington

August 10, 2025 at 12:45 pm

Community

August 10, 2025 at 12:22 pm

The sense of community and history. Good Public Schools. The walkability of Old Worthington, although this needs to emphasized more with any new development. The Public Library.
